Why screw up when you know you can make it good? loosely quoting the making of high sch musical.
Indeed many times in life we go for the bare minimum instead of the very best. We forget that God desires the spirit of excellence, never lukewarm Christians. Clearly He says that we cannot be both hot and cold, from the same mouth how can praises for God as well as slander sprout?
Don't get me wrong that you guys are becoming this sort of people, in fact I applaud all of you for your commitment to God and His ministry!
Firstly to those who are studying hard right now for exams, do your best! Not because your parents, teachers and yourselves have certain expectations towards this exams, but remember why Jesus hung on the cross. His love compels us to love and serve.
To those who never fail to show up every training, rain or shine, I sincerely thank you for your service to God. Especially to Christine, Jacq and Yenli, you 3 strong armour bearers are powerful women of God! Not to forget Shane...brother, rise up! :D Lead the girls!
As we prepare for Camp n Christmas, I urge all to pray even more. Pray for the team: those taking the exams and dancing alike, and pray that we'll remember through our service Jesus' death and resurrection. Because our acts of studying and dancing are symbols of our worship to God, let's do them excellently! And let's also pray for ourselves, camp is merely a month away, let's not miss out on this chance to be transformed by His Word.
Lastly, I pray that this team will continue to spur each other on to serve God even more passionately and faithfully. Thank you for being part of my life. :D

Drop Everything And Read (DEAR)
The National Library Board will be launching its D.E.A.R promotion once again from 1 Nov 2006 to 31 January 2007.
During the D.E.A.R promotion, we encourage you to Double Up on Your Reading - basic members can borrow up to 8 items and premium members up to 16 items. In addiiton, you get a chance to win a DEAR bag when you borrow eight books in a single receipt (while stocks last).
To participate in the DEAR-SilkAir Quiz, library patron has to borrow eight books and answer some travel-related questions. Two winners will be picked where they stand to win a return air ticket to either Kota Kinabalu or Langkawi, kindly sponsored by SilkAir. In addition, there are also five consolation prizes to be won. The draw will be conducted at library@orchard on 24 February 2007, 3pm.
Take part in our ASK! Contest and stand a chance to win a book. Simply pick up the ASK! Contest form and ask any (one) burning question that you have in mind. Attach your loan receipts of 4 items to the quiz form. Drop it in the ASK! Contest box. The ASK! Contest is available at Jurong, Woodlands and Tampines Regional Libraries only.
We hope that our library customers and Singaporeans alike will recognize that reading is as important to the mind as exercise is to the body and that it is a meaningful activity worth setting aside time for.
Contact 6332 3255 (NLB helpdesk) for more information on the programmes and activities.
