1. Full dress
Pls note that the full dress rehearsal at NEXUS has been shifted from 21 (thurs) to 22 (FRI). That is one day before the ESS itself, so please try to shift all your other appointments away and come for this rehearsal. :D
It was originally scheduled to be on thursday because of Corporate prayer meet (CPM) on fri, but that has been postponed. So yep, the full dress will be on 22/2 (fri) at nexus auditorium at night. Keep your 6-10pm free, though it won't be that long.

announcement regarding 9 feb
Hey just received news that 9th feb is a single service because of CNY 3rd day. So service is from 11 am to 1pm. Our rehearsal is therefore affected, and will be shortened from 10am to 11am.
The plan for the remaining rehearsals until ESS is this:
this sat 26/1 - lyrical and individualistic girls and contemp
31/1, 2/2, 5/2 - aggressive girls and guys battle (and contemp)
9/2 - couple (short dance so 1 hour to learn only. those not dancing this segment, come down and rehearse on ur own for the dances learnt)
the plan for the rest of the practices are specified in the rehearsal schedule, so do get them from me on sat if u don't have it yet.
notice that we are running on a very very tight schedule. so let's all give our 100% every single rehearsal, and also get hold of the songs so you can practice at home/ listen while travelling.

Feast #1 - Stretch to Success
Those of you who were with me at the start of 07 will remember how I wanted to incorporate cg elements into dance sessions. However the 2 hours weekly is hardly enough for us to even get warmed up; so with 08, I hope to provide a feast every 1st and 3rd sunday of the month. Feasts will be times of learning (currently I'm providing links to audio teachings), and if I chance upon a great video it will be served as appetiser or dessert.
This first feast of the year is slightly after the intended date. In fact the Youtube video was recommended to me (by Cher) only a little while earlier.

hello!!
it's been so long since i've posted here!!
for those who don't know me, *although i think there are really few people* i'm mingyi and i was once under YWC2.
but you won't see me often nowadays since i'm milesss away from you all.
back to where i was just now...
just wanted to share with you a little bit of my life recently.
so...i had a competition on the 7th of jan. to prepare for it, i had to choreo practically 2 whole songs.
not exactly whole since my friends editted the song.
so basically its the intro+verse+chorus of 'Zhen De Ai Ni' and the whole of 'Dan Che'
still, it was not an easy job, and i challenge you all to try choreographing it!
here are the songs!:

and Zhen De Ai Ni by Beyond
now you get the difficulty??
the dance turned out.............bad.
due to various reasons though.
like...
lack of practice,
over-estimation of their dancing skills (you can say that i choreo-ed it too hard)
so it ended up really messy.
and i admit i did dance wrongly in the competition myself. *oops*
ha. to think that i was the one who did the choreography.
if you all really wanna know how the dance turned out...
basically there was the part where i choreo-ed *the part from 'Zhen De Ai Ni'*
and 'Dan Che' was mostly pair work *we tried out a bit of ballroom which was really fun!!* and a solo from me for the 2nd verse.
i guess you have to wait till mid-feb or later for the vid.
'cos my classmates dont want other people to copy our dance steps for their own dance in the competition. *kiasu-ism??*
or another way is that...i make it a private video on youtube.
so only you all can watch lorhh...
but i think you have to give me your emails first. or something like that.
i believe that we tried our best.
since we were only given less than 3 weeks to complete everything.
although the result was not as good as it could be,
i enjoyed a lot of the process.
actually, i kinda predicted the outcome.
since the time given was really insufficient.
i guess that's all for that dance bahh...
do tell me how you want the video to be seen.

Some of the files will be password protected for sensitive details. Like I have hidden the hp no and email. You need to unlock the worksheet first using the pass.
I will release also the (same) pass and my email add you can use to upload files as the owner of the box widget. Okay maybe sounds confusing, but if still blur just ask me during sat.
Basically i think this can help when we want to share some music also. Test it out and let me know how. :D

Firstly thank you all for staying way after the agreed upon time of 8pm. And for taking time to spend the first day of 08 with me, and the rest of the team.
I've said earlier that 07 has indeed been a year of several breakthroughs for us. The growth was slow but evident. The new additions to the team, as well as the old birds, you guys have really been a great support to me, and I cannot say enough of how much I thank God for each of you.
As we were sharing about our dreams of 08 and beyond, many of us agreed that we need a common vision from God to sustain this ministry. That such a vision will gel us together and build even greater friendships in this ministry. That we would grow to be not just a team of dancers, but a family who do life together. I am really encouraged by all of your visions for this ministry. Don't stop dreaming, but let's also be faithful with the little we have.
I really look forward to a year of great growth and am asking God to give me wisdom as I plan. I pray that each of you would also continue to fan this flame for God and ask Him to show you even greater visions. Let's not see with our human eyes and focus on our lacks, but let's look to God, because He's the very reason we are different from the world.
And as we push ourselves to give nothing but the best for this Feb ESS, I pray that God will annoint this team and we can truly use dance to not just entertain, but cause people to be moved to feel and think about our Creator.
