last week's class and wassup till sept

A post filled with important announcements, please read to the end.

For those in August class, I'd asked most of you last week if you wanted to continue to choreography, and it's an unanimous 'yes'. So please practice in your own time before class this week, because Justis actually wanted to change song to accomodate our learning pace. Let's stretch ourselves a little bit and see improvement!

Here is the youtube video for you to use for practice:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfzHQCM6gb4
It's the mtv, so if any of you have the song itself, please share! :D

We're left with 5 weeks to end of our training with Justis: 23/8, 30/8, 6/9, 20/9 and 27/9.
I'm assuming everyone is taking Sept classes because it is the final month already. Let me know by this sat (23/8) if you are not intending to, cause will start collecting payment from 30/8.
For those attending HK LC (therefore missing 6/9 class), I need to know by this sat as well who are you exactly, so I don't end up with a private lesson I can plan the sept class payment effectively.
Am thinking of preparing a farewell gift for our instructor, so please help brainstorm for good ideas (time to tag)!

We'll still have training on 13/9, though justis can't make it cos' of an external performance on that day. We'll have Joshua teaching us some breakdancing basics, and all are expected to be there, transforming as many as possible into b-boys and b-girls.

Finally, we're 3 days away from JUMP! 7.30pm at Fort Canning Park. You can pray for the dancers involved (7 of us from youth, 2 from tertiary) that God will sustain our physical bodies, as many are falling ill. Pray also with us for a time of ministering worship and friends to come and know God. I'll see you, and your friends, there on Friday then!

God bless,
jiali

hey hey!! long time no see!!
mingyi here!!

this is...gonna be quite a long post. so i shall say less. XP
so i went to taiwan for around a week in mid-july...
and a friend invited me to watch her school's dance club performance.
[[or rather, i asked if i could go watch. XP]]
so i did, and it was GREAT.

from this experience i knew the difference of watching a performance LIVE and thru youtube.
which is rather.....dramatic.

actually i didn't expect much from these two dance clubs from her school, [[one female one male]]
'cos...i dunno. >.<
but it was really really nice to watch!!
the dance clubs were.....professional standard. in my terms XP

another thing i've learnt is how important teachers are.
although the school is not a major dance school,
the teachers they've found were professional dancers.
those top dancers that win in competitions.
among them is Soulbrother who choreo-ed and danced 小猪's "一枝独秀".

here's the vids!!
sadly i can't find the performances by the students that night on youtube... X(

hiphop competition by male dance club.
this is a dance that i watched that night, but performed on a different day. XP

the next three videos are PROFESSIONALS. as in the teachers' performances::

Lady First.

Soulbrother.

i've decided to embed the last one here...tell you why later.
Steady Point.

looks like a normal dance performance where the teachers messed up a bit, doesn't it??
but here's the real thing.
after that dance, it was announced that they brought the WRONG MUSIC.
as in they were supposed to dance to another song,
but since they brought the wrong one, they had to dance to this one,
and the dance was put together there and then.
[[looking at how sync-ed their moves still can be, i think they've performed this somewhere else. just that they didn't practice it for this concert. XP]]
flexibility.

okay okay. i thank you all for reading this long long longgggg post.
i really wanted to share with you all the whole show, but i couldn't find the clips by the students themselves...
but really, they were AWESOME. [[especially the female dance team. XP]]

all the best!!!!!! hope to see you all again when i'm back. XD
bye for now!! ^^
