E-buzz is right, dance is the next big thing in Singapore, and all over the world.

Just to quote a few instances,

• Movies related to dance, namely "The Last Dance", "Honey" and "Take the Lead".
• Shows like "So you think you can dance" and the up-coming "Dance Floor"
• Games like "Audition SEA", coming from the creators of Maplestory and Pangya
• Various small to large-scaled competitions, think "Girl's Nation Dance Battle" by StudioWu, "Streetstyle Slam" (previous post) and "Overdrive" by Wade Robson
• Mega-events, "The Big Groove" organised by O school and "Da:ns", the equivalent of singapore arts festival, by Esplanade later in the year
• Friends and people on the public transport you overheard talking about their (sudden) interest in Salsa, Hip Hop and even Exotic dances

Well, all these and more (I'm sure) are obvious enough clues to why dance is the next big thing.

Now, why am I blogging about this? Is it that I have no better thing to do (like my psych or history readings)? Or it could be that I'm trying to keep this place alive (*hint*)! OK, getting to the point, I think now is the time we should participate and learn.

I don't expect you to take part in the competitions as yet, but do save up to watch at least 1 performance in Da:ns, or at least turn on the tv once "Dance Floor" starts. Let's also spend some time training up our stamina (I'm guilty of not doing this) and techniques (that is go for Tues trainings) for Camp, Christmas 2006 and whatever is to come in 2007! really hoping we can go take part in some small competition next year.
